Welcome to this post, Poems On World Book Day. This post is written to celebrate World Book Day And Copyright Day or International Day of the book. It is celebrated on 23rd April every year with the initiative of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO ). I have written 2 poems to express my feelings on this day. Hope you will appreciate Poems On World Book Day.

QUESTION 1 – Why World Book Day is celebrated or observed?

ANSWER – World Book Day is celebrated or observed to promote reading, publishing and copy right of books.

QUESTION 2 – When was the first World Book Day was celebrated?

ANSWER – The first World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April in 1995 and it continues to be celebrated on this day every year. Only two countries United Kingdom and Ireland observe a related event in the month of March.

QUESTION 3 – Where from this idea to celebrate a day of books came from?

ANSWER – The idea to celebrate a day of books originally came from Catalan’s ‘Day of Book’ called as Dia del Libre. Dia del Libre was celebrated in Catalonia on 23rd April every year.

QUESTION 4 – Why this date 23rd April was chosen?

ANSWER – This date was chosen as this also marks the death anniversary of William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, and also birth and death anniversary of several other prominent authors.

QUESTION 5 – What is the significance World Book and Copyright Day?

ANSWER – The significance of this day is to promote the habit of reading and to make people more aware of the importance of the books.

QUESTION 6 – What are the themes of the World Book and Copyright Day for few years?

ANSWER – The themes are given below year – wise….

  • 2022 – “You are a reader” (focusing on children from disadvantaged backgrounds )
  • 2021 – “To share a story”
  • 2020 – “Books have the unique ability both to entertain and teach”
  • 2018 – “Reading, it’s my right!”
  • 2015 – “Discover the world”
  • 2014 – “Read Books and be Smart”
  • 2013 – “Publishing, reading and saving of the Secret Property through Copyright”
  • 2012 – “Modification and Books”
  • 2011 – “Rising of the Production of the Books to the Digital from the writing”

( POWER HOUSE OF KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION )

Books are the power house of knowledge and information

They give it to their readers without any hesitation.

Encourage your children to read books from an early age

Knowledge and information will help them in every stage.

Books are the power house of knowledge and information

They help us to understand previous generations and new generation.

You can go for fictional or non – fictional books as you like

Pick up travel books, history books, self – help books or book on technology as you like

Every type of books are important, provides knowledge and impacts our mind and psychology.

Books are the power house of knowledge and information

They make us competent and ready to handle any situation.

Our knowledge improves on variety of subjects and on many matters

We become wiser, practical and can solve problems on different matters.

Books make us fluent in languages

Books help in enhancing our writing skill

Books help to improve our vocabulary also.

Books give us newer perspective and deeper understanding

Also we become competent and confident for debate and public speaking.

Books impacts our personality positively

Everybody should read books and make it a habit definitely.

Encourage everyone to read books and more books of different type

For entertainment as well as to widen our perspective.
