INDIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY:-

Indian Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August every year. This is a national holiday/national festival commemorating India’s independence from the United Kingdom ( British Raj ) on 15th August 1947. On this day , as per the provision of the 1947 Indian Independence Act, British Raj transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly and it came into effect.

India retained King George VI as Head of the State until its transition to a full republic. India became full republic when it adapted the Constitution of India on 26th January1950. This day is celebrated as Indian Republic Day. This is also a national holiday and also considered as national festival.

Indian Independence Day is a special day for every Indian citizen. This day reminds us about the great freedom fighters. Their supreme sacrifice has given us freedom or independence. We just can not forget them. Their life is worth inspiration for all of us.

The Indian independence movement began during World War I and was led by Mohan Das K Gandhi. He advocated for a peaceful and nonviolent end to the British rule.

Independence Day is observed throughout India with flag- hoisting ceremonies, drills/ parade, singing of the Indian national anthem, giving/ voicing patriotic slogans. In addition to this, there are various cultural programs conducted in the State capitals.

On this auspicious day, the Prime Minister of India hoists the National Flag at the Red Fort ( historic monument in old Delhi ) and gives his speech/ message for the Nation. Then parade is held with members of the armed forces and police. During this period Government Offices in New Delhi are decorated with light or buildings remain lit during this period.

Now, its time to read and enjoy the poems…

Short Poem We Love You India

O, our India! O, our India

We Love You India

We are patriotic Indians

On the solemn occasion of our Independence Day

We rededicate ourselves

For the honor of our country

We declare before you

We are for the country

And the country is for us

We can sacrifice our life

We can sacrifice our life

To defend your name and fame

O, our India! O, our India

We love you India.

Short Poem Live Like Friends For Ever

O, our beloved country India

You are so unique

You are so special

Unity in diversity is seen here

Many ethnic people, many languages and many religions

We always try to follow Mahatma Gandhi’s vision.

We appreciate the contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

He has brought out such a beautiful constitution

We have to follow the constitution

And become a matured democratic nation.

Everything depends on us

We the people of India

We all have to contribute a lot for our nation

Let us make the atmosphere so conducive

Everybody should like to live here

Live like friends for ever.

Short Poem Sacrifice Of The People Of Our Nation

Our beloved country India !

Culturally rich with proud history

It’s the largest democracy of the world

It’s interesting, our freedom struggle was through non- violence

We forced the Britishers to leave our land

Fighting through non- violence in a new style

It has created a new history

But, non- violence is not a mystery.

The path of non- violence was shown by Mahatma Gandhi

The Father of our Nation

This was followed by the entire population

Fighting for freedom was the new spirit

Nobody was afraid to sacrifice their life

We achieved Independence on 15th August,1947

It was the result of great leadership

Great unity, great strength of all

And big sacrifice of the people of our nation.

Short Poem Powerful But Kind Nation

O, my dear! Brothers and Sisters!

Certainly we can be proud of many things

Many achievements in various fields

Still, please always think

How the poorest of poor is living?

Let everybody be a part of Independence celebrations

On this auspicious occasion

Let us all revisit our struggle history

Let us all take oath again

To build a powerful but kind nation

To build a progressive and tolerant nation.

CONCLUSION:-

Looking into the system of our country, and as per the provisions led down by our constitution, each and every individual of the country is the future of our country.

India has great culture and tradition. It is the largest

democracy of the world. But we all have to work hard for the development of our nation. We all have to uphold the true meaning and spirit of our great constitution.

Our country is unique with many ethnic groups, castes, culture, different religions and traditions. We all have to see that our country remains free and secular. We all have to stay united despite many differences.

Every Indian must realize that peace, harmony and brotherhood is the root of our civilization. We all have duties and responsibilities for our country. We should be contributors for the growth of our country.
