( POEM – 1 )

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

For smooth functioning of democracy

Let the free press do their rightful duty.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

Provide the right and analytical news and information

Help people to be socially aware

Aware of what is happening all around.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

Yes – make the people empowered to criticize the government

To point out the government’s flaws.

And keep the administration on their toes

For the betterment of the country and the citizen rich and poor

And for the welfare of all citizen rich and poor.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

Press should check and balance the administration and government

Any corruption or oppression happening here and there

Should be brought into public without any fear.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress

The voice of the people and the press should be heard by all

Help people to take decision

The press has to be really trustworthy

The press should help and influence for more liberty and equality for all.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

There should be no censorship and press should be free

There should be no yellow journalism

The press should do its duty and do justice

And there should be no favouritism at all.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

Nobody should hide lies

Everybody should know and appreciate truth

Lies should be condemned by one and all

Corrective measures should be taken by one and all.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

The citizen should never be manipulated by anyone

The press should help to make people honest

And play big role and make people vigilant everywhere.

Give freedom to the people and the press

Let the country run without strain and stress.

The press should never misguide the public

Freedom of press should be properly utilized

There should be peace, harmony and growth in the society and country

The press and the people should play a big role for the unity of the country.
