SHORT STORY

Monty Roberts was a school boy. His father was a horse trainer. He used to move from stable to stable, from ranch to ranch to train the horses.

Monty Roberts had to change his schools many a times due to his father’s changing places, still he reached senior level. One day, the teacher asked the students of his class to write about what they wanted to be when they grow up.

Monty Roberts did not hesitate a minute and wrote seven – page paper about his aim to be an owner of a horse ranch. He wrote many details and drew a location of buildings and stables and even a detailed house plan.

Two days later, Monty Roberts received his paper back with letter “F” on the front page. After the class was over went to the teacher and asked, “Why did I received a F?” The teacher responded and replied, “This dream is so unrealistic for a boy like you, who has no money, no support and who comes from a itinerant family.

It seems there is no possibility that you will reach your great goals or dreams one day. Then the teacher advised and offered to revise or rewrite the paper with more practical picture and realistic attitude.

Monty Roberts went home and told the entire episode and asked his father, how he should act on this matter. The father answered, “This decision is very important for you. Therefore you have to make up your mind on this and take a decision with lot of calm and coolness.”

After several days Monty Roberts brought the same paper to his teacher. No changes were made in it. He said, “Keep the F and I will keep my goals and dreams.”

Monty Roberts passed out from the school…

It’s amazing, now, Monty Roberts owns 4000 square foot house in the middle of 200 acre horse ranch and he still has that school paper, which now is framed over the fire place.

Please remember, you have to follow your passion, follow your heart, never give up. Please move on with zeal, enthusiasm, with determination and persistence.
