Also to commemorate the first revelation of Quran to Muhammad
Ramadan is a time to fast for the sake of God
This is one of the five pillars of Islam to be carried out for the entire month
Muslims do fasting ‘sawm’ means abstinence with discipline and patience
It refrains from eating, drinking, smoking and sexual relations
Also says no to all immoral vices, sinful speech, behaviour from sunrise to sunset
This helps to gain self-control and inner strength that a person needs the most.
Compulsory fasting in Ramadan is also to get spiritual benefits through introspecting
It is very much useful time to realize God
And also to know all type of poor and needy people that are in our surroundings
Ramadan encourages compassion, care and charity
Certainly helps to be good human beings and to be dutiful with clarity.
Ramadan helps purification of body and mind and develops good human behavior
The extra prayer offered during Ramadan is for tranquility of heart and mind

It is to break the fast and enjoy with rich, poor, needy and others to eat and respect together.

Even though, fasting may be cause for lower cholesterol and loss of weight
But helps cardio vascular health, reducing heart diseases and stroke.
This month helps to eat less food to feel full
Helps to detoxify the body and cleanses the mind and entire body in full.

Makes body more efficient
And helps better body functioning to absorb more nutrients.

Also a source of new habits and energy
It gears up to lead a better life

It’s a process of cleansing, rejuvenating and rededicating
