Welcome to poem on International Yoga Day written by me. This Yoga day poem describes , how the International  yoga day started and how it acquired International status and how it has acquired importance place in our daily life. It has attempted to bring all these things into this poem on International Yoga Day.

Yoga is an ancient Indian physical, mental and spiritual discipline. The International Yoga Day or The International Day of Yoga has been observed on the 21st June every year, since 2015.

This date of 21st June was chosen by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He addressed the United Nations on September 27, 2014 and told that as 21st June is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many regions of the world.

     POEM ON INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Yoga can help anyone
Yoga can transform life
Yoga can be done easily
But find out expert for proper training.
Yoga will certainly add up
Increase value in life
To make a person fit, stress-free and mindful
Also help to live longer, happier and make one flexible
Yes – it helps to have a great life
A healthy body with a happy and healthy mind. 

Yoga is a creation of ancient India
Not practiced whole heartedly throughout India
Many Yoga Gurus tried to revive yoga
Took steps to popularize yoga
Lot of credit can be given to Baba Ramdev
Through yoga classes in TV made it popular
The ultimate contribution to yoga is by our Prime Minister
PM Shri Narendra Modi could bring international recognition
He gave the proposal to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
To celebrate 21st June as International Yoga Day 

Hurrah! Hurrah!!
It was appreciated and accepted
The first International Yoga Day on 21st June 2015 was celebrated
Now it’s a regular feature for the entire world
21st June is the longest day of the year in Northern hemisphere
Now this longest day has become the International Yoga Day. 

Yoga is the holistic approach of living originated in India
Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or discipline practiced in ancient India
Yoga is spiritual and ascetic discipline including breath control and simple meditation
Also adoption of specific bodily postures to be practiced regularly
For immense benefits physically, mentally and spiritually beyond our imagination. 

The ancient knowledge of ancient India should be spread worldwide for benefit of entire human civilization
The busy and troubled world needs patience, positive approach, peace and tranquility
Yoga can immensely change our thinking, feelings and bring new polished human quality
The first International Yoga Day on 21st June 2015 was organized at Rajpath, New Delhi
Event was attended by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi. 

People from 84 Nations attended with enthusiasm and pride
General public of India participated in mass yoga as a great celebration with free mind.
On 21st June 2015, 21 Yoga Asanas were performed in mass yoga sessions
Many enthusiastic trained yoga teachers guided during this mass sessions
International Yoga Day or Yoga Day started with a bang
And this event set two Guinness World Records. 

The first record for the biggest yoga class that included 35,985 people or participants
The second record for the greatest number of participating Nations (84) for an event
A great start of first International Yoga Day continues with more enthusiasm
Now the entire world appreciates and is inspired to practice yoga on International Yoga Day. 

It is a matter of pride and satisfaction that the world is continuing to practice regularly to get immense benefit
Let us praise yoga in unison
Let yoga bring peace, prosperity and unity
Wow!  Let us make our world a tolerant, peaceful and beautiful place to live with help of yoga
Let us all practice yoga and say…
Long live yoga!
Long live yoga….

CONCLUSION:

It is heartening to note that the first international day of yoga or yoga day set two records…a)the largest yoga class and b)the most number of nations attending yoga day.

Yoga has been practiced in India for a long period. Yoga. Yoga helps in unity of mind and body as well as our thought and action. This is a holistic approach to health and well being.

We can also call this a process to discover the sense of oneness with yourself , the world and the nature.

International yoga day aims to provide mental health fitness, physical health fitness of our mind, body and soul. It very much rejuvenates our body and keep us calm and cool.

On this international yoga day there are many activities takes place in schools, colleges and clubs etc.  It can be advised to general public to learn and practice yoga to lead a fulfilled life.
