Welcome to Lakshmi Maa Poem in English…This Poem is in honour of Lakshmi Maa. She is the Goddess of wealth, auspiciousness and
prosperity. We pray her on the occasion of Lakshi Puja. She is prayed along with Saraswati Maa and Lord Ganesh.

We have to have ‘Lakshya’
Meaning of Lakshya is ‘aim’
This is derived from ‘Lakshmi’
Lakshmi is the Vedic deity
She epitomizes wealth, auspiciousness
Also fortune and prosperity.
Maa Lakshmi is the Divine consort of Lord Vishnu
All the auspicious elements of nature are associated with her
She was born out of Samudra Manthan
That is the churning of Milk Ocean
A tug of war between Gods and Demons
This churning was for ‘amrit’, ‘nectar’ in the ocean
Goddess Lakshmi rises out of the waves
Seated on a full-blown lotus.
Goddess Lakshmi chooses Vishnu as her master
Thereby she chooses the Gods over demons
But this actually symbolizes the good and the evil within us
They fight to overpower each other
If the man becomes arrogant, undisciplined
Filled with inflated ego and pride
The man is certain to ruin himself
That clearly symbolizes that Lakshmi will leave him or depart from his house.
Maa Lakshmi even forsakes Gods
That’s the reason, why they become weak
And Asuras use to win over them
Later on when the Gods follow the right path
And with the blessings of Lord Vishnu
Then only regain their strength to fight and regain Baikuntha, their capital.
Goddess Lakshmi is equal to all
The divine energy of Goddess Lakshmi guides us all
Guides us to realize all aspects of our life
That may be Moral Duty (Dharma)
That may be Desires (Karma)
That may be Prosperity (Arth)
That may be Liberation (Moksha)
Of course, with Sattvic qualities.
We pray Goddess Lakshmi
October is main festive month for Maa Lakshmi
Maa Lakshmi is known to be the daughter of mother Goddess Durga
She is the wife of Lord Vishnu in all incarnations
She was Sita for Lord Rama (Incarnation of Lord Vishnu)
Maa Lakshmi is worshipped in many households
Lord Ganesha and Goddess Saraswati are always worshipped with Maa Lakshmi.
These three deities Ganesha, Saraswati and Lakshmi have special significance
On success, knowledge and abundance.
For success, we pray to Lord Ganesha
For knowledge, we pray to Goddess Saraswati
For abundance, we pray to Goddess Lakshmi
Again let’s remember the Goals or aims of human life
Yes, to attain the goals represented by Moral Duty (Dharma), Prosperity (Arth), Desires (Karma) and Moksha (Liberation)
We all needs blessings from Lord Ganesha
He removes all obstacles by imparting intelligence and strength
We all need blessings from Goddess Lakshmi
She bestows auspiciousness, wealth, awareness of life’s purpose
And also fulfillment of desires
We all need blessings from Goddess Saraswati
She blesses with wisdom and knowledge.
Friends !
Therefore, to achieve our aim, goal or lakshya
We worship three deities together
If we get their blessings
There will be very less botheration
In a righteous way we have to lead our life
Thereby we can achieve the goals of our life
Every God and Goddess plays an important role in our life
This we all should remember to lead a great life
Maa Lakshmi will never abandon us
We should pray her daily
She will certainly make us happy, prosperous and bright.
