ORIGINAL POEM IN ENGLISH

The Road Not Taken

ROBERT FROST

Stanza – 1

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Stanza – 2

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

Stanza – 3

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

Stanza – 4

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

HINDI TRANCLATION OF THE POEM :

(The Road Not Taken Poem by Robert Frost)

Stanza – 1

वहां तक जहां झाड – झंखखाड़ से वो घूम है गया;

Stanza – 2

कारण वह था घास से भरा और चाहता था कुचला जाए उसे;

Stanza – 3

Stanza – 4

After reading the poem thoroughly, it can be concluded that Robert Frost’s poem “The road not taken” clearly narrates and deals with situations we faced in our life. A few choices appear before us. And we have to take decision.

In our life, there is impact of choices and impact of decision that we take. The choices make a big difference in the long run of our career and life.

Life journey is not easy. One has to examine the nature of each road (decisions). Its impact, its pros and cons are to be found out, then only choice can be made. And ultimately choices in our life make the differences.
